On August 5th, I had the honour of leading a fact-finding delegation to Mede, Mbadede Ward, Vandeikya LGA, as part of efforts to revive Agriculture and Rural Development Centres across Benue State.
Joined by key leaders including Amb. Desmond Akavor, Prof. Steve Ugbah, and Prof. Qrisstuberg Amua, we visited the long-neglected Maribound Centre — once vital to farmers but left to decay.
Under the visionary leadership of Governor Hyacinth Alia, these centres are now being reimagined — not only as input hubs but also as produce off-takers, supporting farmers, creating jobs, and stimulating rural economies.
This bold initiative could generate over 20 million jobs and aligns with Mr. President’s Renewed Hope Agenda for food security and national growth.
We thank our partners and call on Benue’s youths and farmers: the time to engage is now. Together, we are planting the seeds of hope, growth, and prosperity.
